Hi,

Im sorry that I havnt replied... I overlooked the thread while being busy on other stuff. Bad excuse... I know...
Anyway... Earlier versions of kbmMW do support FPC directly and thus Lazarus (runtime only). However since we have lately employed the use of generics in many places in kbmMW, and since generics in FPC are different than in Delphi, its no longer a guarantee that FPC will compile the code. We do make use of Delphis Generic.Collections unit for example numerous places in kbmMW. I know that there have been a 3rdparty that have made support for it in FPC, but I have no idea of how good the support is.
I would certainly like that FPC would be supporting the various Delphi syntax elements and ensuring they work the same as in Delphi. Currently the two projects are seemingly getting more and more diversified from eachother, which probably is in Embarcaderos interest, but which may not be in FPCs long term interest.
I fully appreciate that FPC is an open source and free project, with the manpower available as volunteer resources, and that it for that reason may be difficult to do all at the same time, but the easier it would be for Delphians to use 3rdparty tools under FPC, the larger the potential FPC userbase would probably be.
best regards kim Madsen C4D
